Links with the Community
We pride ourselves on being a school with a strong sense of community. Here are some of the things we are involved in...
School Shows
We love to put on a show at Carnmoney Primary School. Every year, we invite members of the community to come and watch our pupils putting on either a Musical Production, or a Musical Night.
Check out our music night from 2025...
Growing Together
We have a dedicated team of volunteers who support our school staff to keep our gardens and school grounds looking top notch! Miss Bannon heads up this team and we have recently been recognised with the 'Best Kept School Garden' award and the 'Green Flag Award'.
Take A Seat
We have recently registered to be a school that provides a place where members of our community can stop, take a break and get to know each other.

PFSA
Our Parents, Friends and Staff Association is a thriving group of people with one joined up aim: Supporting the School Community. Each year, this team puts on various events. Click here for more info

Take 5 steps to Wellbeing
At Carnmoney Primary School, we try to get everyone involve in our mission to promote wellbeing. we work closely with external agencies, parents, pupils and staff to integrate the 'Take 5 steps to wellbeing' into the life of the school. We are currently a Level 2 Take 5 School and are working towards Level 3.

Have a look below for more information on how these 5 steps are important for our wellbeing.

Links with the Church
We have a strong link with the local Church. Carnmoney Church has been a close friend of Carnmoney Primary School for many years. Rev Stuart Hawthorne and his staff team have recently helped us to set up our own Scripture union and he visits the school monthly to support us.

The church also welcomes our pupils to sing for them each year, use their premises and we work closely with Newtownabbey Foodbank, which is run by members of the church.

Safe School
Some of our staff completed Safe Schools training, meaning that we are a place that recognises and responds to incidents of domestic violence. Women's Aid and Onus provides schools with training, resources, and support to create a safe environment, empower students with knowledge about healthy relationships, and offer a "Safe Place" for individuals to access information about domestic abuse services. This includes partnerships like Operation Encompass, where police share information with schools about domestic abuse incidents to enable immediate support for children.

Shared Education
We are very proud of our growing partnership with St Mary's On The Hill as part of the Shared Education program.
Shared Education is an approach that brings together pupils and teachers from different school sectors—often across religious, cultural, or socio-economic divides—to learn and collaborate. Its core purpose is to:
- Promote inclusion and respect by encouraging interaction between diverse communities.
- Enhance educational outcomes through shared resources, expertise, and experiences.
- Build mutual understanding and reduce barriers by fostering friendships and cooperation.
- Develop skills for a shared society, such as teamwork, empathy, and critical thinking.
