We are delighted to welcome you and your child to Carnmoney Primary School. Our school is dedicated to providing a warm, nurturing, and inspiring environment where children will learn to love learning, grow in confidence, and become the best version of themselves!
Our vision is to ‘nurture children to be the best they can be, enjoying learning for life together’. This means our dedicated staff will meet your child where they are at, both academically and emotionally whilst doing everything they can to encourage them and help each child to meet their potential. At Carnmoney, we aim to help our children grow into confident young people ready for their future.
We are a school with our core values at the heart of everything we do. We value respect, integrity, kindness, equality, community and enjoyment. Not only do we teach, model and live by these values, we show our pupils what they look like and why they are important to us. Every decision and policy made in this school is underpinned by our core values. Our ethos is the heart of who we are.
Our mission is 'to create a safe, happy and caring school, where everyone will be accepted and valued for who they are and where children are inspired to learn.' We place high value on making learning fun, enjoyable and inspiring to our pupils by provide real-life learning opportunities to every child, in order to bring the curriculum to them and make learning irresistible. We pride ourselves in being a school that promotes equity, equality and equal access to all. Any one who walks through our doors, no matter where you come from, what you look like, or who you are, will be welcomed in exactly the same way, pupil, parent staff member of visitor!
We hope, if your child attends our school, that they will feel part of a bigger family. We also hope that the staff, parents and wider community connected to our school, feel this same sense of belonging when coming through our doors.
Having been part of the Carnmoney Primary School family for nearly twenty years, with both my own children having gone through the school from Primary 1 to primary 7, I cannot explain how much impact the staff and the community have had on my own family. The strong sense of community and family that we have here makes Carnmoney Primary School a very special place to be. Carnmoney Primary School is a special place with deep roots in our village, and high expectations for our pupils.
Our curriculum is rich and our staff are highly skilled. We are a school that aims to stay ahead of the curve. We work hard to stay abreast of the most current best practice. In recent years, our school has been showcased by the Education Authority as an example of best practice in developing Vision and Values and Promoting Positive Behaviour. We have also been highly sought after to share our journey of developing Outdoor Learning as a means of bringing learning to life for our pupils. We are truly proud of who we are.
